Gravel Biking Trips

From the incredible expanse of the Red Desert to the high forest roads surrounding the Wind River Range, this area boasts endless opportunities for gravel riding.

On a gravel road south and east of Lander, you’ll experience Wyoming in its raw form.  As you ride the rolling hills past miles of sage you can enjoy the huge mountains in the distance with nothing to block your view in every direction.  Indian Paintbrush and other wildflowers speckle the landscape and small seasonal springs run cold and clear as the warmer temps bring the snowmelt.  Pronghorn and Mule Deer are in abundance with a good chance you’ll see a group of Wild Horses grazing in the distance.  The Califonia, Mormon, and Oregon Trails crossed this area known as South Pass and many of our gravel rides take us past the restored old mining town of South Pass City.  This area is rich with history and a great place to stop and enjoy lunch at the Miners Grubsteak in the neighboring town of Atlantic City.  Between South Pass and Lander is the stunning overlook of Red Canyon and the many miles of forested roads within the Shoshone National Forest.  The Louis Lake Road between South Pass and Lander climbs past high mountain lakes and streams to 9700ft with views of the granite walls of the Wind River Range before making the 4500ft descent through Sinks Canyon back to Lander.

Over the years we’ve spent hundreds of hours exploring and enjoying these far-out roads that weave through the Wyoming landscape.  Grap a guide and enjoy a great day in the saddle!  Let us know your dream gravel ride and we'll pair it with one from our plethora of riding options.
